What is Zhou Gong's dream dictionary?
In China, “ask Zhou Gong” is what people say after a strange dream — the way English speakers talk about looking something up in a dream dictionary. The book attributed to Zhou Gong, a statesman from about 3,000 years ago, is really a folk collection built up over centuries: snake means money, teeth mean family, water means wealth, a coffin means promotion (it puns on “official” and “rich”).
This site puts each entry next to what Western dream research and sleep science say. No lectures — just both readings, side by side, and you take what's useful.
Dream interpretation is a folk tradition, not a prediction. Nothing here is medical, financial, or life advice — for poor sleep or recurring nightmares, see a professional.
